The Natural Resource Management Department implements land management and ecological restoration activities on all District sites. Staff members complete biological inventory and monitoring studies, assess potential land acquisitions, provide commentary on potential impacts to significant resources within the county and conduct educational outreach programs on natural resource topics.
This department consists of eleven full time and three part-time employees. A large intern program also augments staff responsibilities and provides educational opportunities and training in natural resource management.
Mission Statement
The primary goal of the District's natural ecosystem management efforts shall be to maintain and reconstruct the best possible approximations of native communities, by restoring natural ecological processes, structure, and composition.
