Students experience various methods of finding their way through the world in both natural and developed areas. Using a map and compass course, students explore natural relationships and human impact on the land. Using GPS units, students find beautiful vistas and hidden caches. Students learn about orienteering, geocaching and factors to consider while participating in any outdoor recreational activity. Orienteering involves skills in math, geography, teamwork, and problem solving. This program includes instruction in both compass and GPS use.
