Night Sky Viewing/Stargazing (by Special Request)

Viewing the night sky in more rural areas where darker skies are more prevalent can be an enjoyable experience. Night Sky viewing is allowed from the front parking lots (before the locked gates) by permit only, free of charge, at these designated sites:
Pleasant Valley Conservation Area, Woodstock
Marengo Ridge Conservation Area, Marengo
Winding Creek Conservation Area, Hebron

Call Brookdale Administrative Offices (open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.) at least 48 hours in advance, or by Thursday at noon for the upcoming Sat./Sun. Call (815) 338-6223, ext. 1211. Permit holders are to stay in the parking lot area; Permit holders need to state their hours of stay. Alcohol is not permitted.
